Biography

Tani leads the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute’s (GHGMI) carbon markets research program, which evaluates the effectiveness of climate policy market mechanisms like carbon credits. He also instructs GHGMI’s series of project-level GHG accounting courses. For the last 5 years, Tani has trained auditors through the California Air Resources Board’s Compliance Offset and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard programs. He has also contributed to the carbon credit rating initiatives of the Carbon Credit Quality Initiative (CCQI) and Calyx Global. He has over 12 years of experience with climate change mitigation policy, carbon credit project development and quality evaluation, and is serving as a member of the ICVCM Expert Panel.
