Our Work
Everything you need to know about the work of the Integrity Council
The Core Carbon Principles
The Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) are ten fundamental, science-based principles for identifying high-quality carbon credits that create real, verifiable climate impact.
Developed with input from hundreds of organisations, they set a global benchmark for high integrity in the voluntary carbon market to raise it to a consistent level of quality and ensure it accelerates progress towards holding warming at 1.5°C.
The Assessment Framework
The Integrity Council’s work focuses on assessing carbon-crediting Programs and Categories of credits for adherence to our Core Carbon Principles Assessment Framework, which defines what a high-integrity carbon credit looks like.

How we assess carbon-crediting programs and Categories of carbon credits
We are now conducting parallel assessments of carbon-crediting programs and Categories of carbon credits for adherence to Core Carbon Principles Assessment Framework.
We are assessing carbon-crediting programs to determine whether a Program can be approved as CCP-Eligible.
Alongside the carbon-crediting programs assessments, we are also assessing Categories of carbon credits, to determine whether a Category may be labelled as CCP-Approved, and thereby used by a CCP-Eligible program.
Stakeholder input
We carefully consider all stakeholder input in accordance with the Assessment Procedure.
