Biography
Alicia is a senior expert in environmental and social safeguards, REDD+, and Indigenous peoples’ rights, with over 15 years of experience advancing equitable climate policies. She has worked with governments, UN agencies, and international organizations to integrate safeguards into climate policies, ensuring compliance and effective implementation. Alicia has played a key role in designing REDD+ frameworks under the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), supporting Indigenous people’s engagement in carbon markets, and benefit sharing mechanisms. She has assessed jurisdictional readiness for ART TREES safeguards compliance and has contributed to VCM standards. With experience advising projects funded by the GCF, UNDP, GEF, and the World Bank, Alicia is committed to fostering, transparent, inclusive, and effective climate action that benefits Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.
