Biography
Ademola Ajagbe is the Regional Managing Director for The Nature Conservancy’s Africa Program, where he leads conservation efforts across 22 countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Gabon, and Seychelles. In this role, he provides strategic leadership to advance geographic priorities aligned with TNC’s 2030 Goals, focusing on climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development.
With over 25 years of experience, Ademola has worked at the intersection of conservation, climate, and development across government and non-governmental organizations in Africa. He brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience, having previously served as Africa Regional Director for BirdLife International, where he oversaw strategic fundraising, program delivery, and team management across 40 countries.
Ademola holds a Bachelor of Technology in Fisheries and Wildlife from the Federal University of Technology, Akure; a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute at the University of Jos; and a Leadership Certificate from the WWF College Leadership Development Programme in the Netherlands.
