The Integrity Council at COP29

Mobilising Private Finance for Inclusive Climate Solutions Through
High-Integrity International Carbon Markets

Why High-Integrity International Carbon Markets Matter at COP29

As leaders from across civil society, government, and business gather at COP29, the Integrity Council is committed to strengthening international carbon markets as a crucial tool to meet global climate ambitions.

The need for climate finance has never been more urgent, and high-integrity international carbon markets are key to mobilising private investment at the speed and scale required to bridge the gap between current efforts and the Paris Agreement’s targets.

The Integrity Council’s Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) set the first global standard for verified carbon credits, enabling markets to deliver genuine, measurable, and lasting impacts. Through our work we aim to drive robust climate action while supporting sustainable development and Indigenous Peoples and/or local communities worldwide.

Join us as we lead efforts at COP29 to foster reformed, high-integrity international carbon markets that support an inclusive and resilient climate response.
