In line with its delegated authority (Governing Board Decision GB 36) to manage the submission windows for carbon-crediting program Applications through the Application Platform, and accounting for the usual Application submission window (April – July), the Executive Secretariat has now closed the Application Platform until April 2027.

Due to Platform upgrades being undertaken, there will be no online access to the Platform during this time.

The Platform is expected to reopen for Application submission in April 2027 (until end July 2027).

If you are a carbon-crediting program interested in assessment but have not yet requested access to the Platform, please send an email to info@icvcm.org. You will be invited to start your Application when the Platform submission window opens next year, but we are happy to provide the current list of application questions on a without prejudice basis to enable you to assess your readiness for assessment by the ICVCM and prepare documentation.

If you are a carbon-crediting program with an open, but currently unsubmitted, Application on the Platform, the Executive Secretariat will ensure that the information you have already uploaded to the Platform remains on the upgraded Platform when it reopens. If you have any questions in relation to this process, please email applications@icvcm.org. Note that due to the adoption of the Rule Architecture by the Governing Board at GB50, the Assessment Procedure will be updated (expected September 2026), along with the Terms and Conditions.

If you are in a program that has passed into assessment (meaning you have passed initial screening and completeness check), the closure and the upgrade of the Platform will not affect your Application.  Note that due to the adoption of the Rule Architecture by the Governing Board at GB50, the Assessment Procedure will be updated (expected September 2026), along with the Terms and Conditions.

General:

We invite all Applicant programs to ensure that they have read all information available on the ICVCM assessment process and that they have carefully reviewed all the Assessment Framework criteria and requirements in order to realistically identify their own readiness for assessment by the ICVCM.

In particular, interested programs should not consider applying without having read all of the following:
