Biography
Shaheen Chughtai is a Communications Manager at ICVCM with nearly 20 years of experience in sustainable development. He supports the delivery of ICVCM’s communications strategy – turning technical information into compelling messages and content, helping to implement ICVCM’s media strategy, and managing key initiatives.
Shaheen has held numerous influencing and engagement roles in the UK, Asia, and the Middle East, including Asia regional director of advocacy and campaigns at Save the Children and head of campaigns, policy and communications for Oxfam’s Syria crisis response.
Notable achievements include launching Save the Children’s first multi-country climate campaign, co-developing its global carbon credit positions, and leading Oxfam’s first global advocacy strategy on Women, Peace and Security. In his earlier journalism career, Shaheen helped launch Aljazeera International’s English news website.
Shaheen holds an MSc in International Politics of Asia and Africa, a BA in Arabic and History, and a PRINCE2 certificate in project management.
