Biography

Coco Chernel is a Carbon Technical Analyst at the ICVCM, where she provides expert technical support in assessing Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) Programs and Categories. Prior to joining the ICVCM, Coco served as a Carbon Research Associate at Abatable, a carbon procurement and intelligence firm, advising corporate and investor clients on carbon credit integrity and market dynamics.
She holds a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Leeds. Earlier in her career, Coco worked as a Research Assistant for the Forestry Commission and the United Bank of Carbon, where she quantified forest carbon stocks using remote sensing technology, contributing to the UK Government’s broader carbon accounting and sustainability mandate. Coco is also a member of the Greenhouse Gas Removals Future Leaders Network at CO2RE, where she engages with emerging research and policy developments in carbon dioxide removal.
