The generous support of our funders sustains our essential work.

We are funded by a range of philanthropic institutions, and also have also benefited from initial seed funding from the UK Government.

We are non-profit independent governance body and are subject to UK law. Funding offers we receive are subject to a due diligence process that ensures compliance with law, and upholds our reputation, our values and our vision.

Current funders

  • Bezos Earth Fund: The Bezos Earth Fund was established with a $10 billion philanthropic commitment from Jeff Bezos to fund scientists, activists, NGOs and other actors that will drive climate and nature solutions. The $10 billion will be disbursed by 2030, the date by which the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals must be achieved.
  • Bloomberg Philanthropies: Bloomberg Philanthropies is a philanthropic organisation that works to improve the lives of millions of people across the globe by focusing on five key areas: the arts, education, the environment, government innovation, and public health. In 2023, Bloomberg Philanthropies invested $3 billion in more than 700 cities and 150 countries.
  • Children’s Investment Fund Foundation: Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) is an independent philanthropic organisation, working with a range of partners seeking to transform the lives of children and adolescents. CIFF’s investment priorities are childhood and adolescence, child protection, and climate change.
  • Google.org: Every year, Google grants £160 million to non-profits and social enterprises across the globe, with the goal of using its philanthropic capital to help stimulate innovative approaches to help solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges.
  • High Tide Foundation: High Tide Foundation invests in climate change solutions across numerous sectors, including energy, food, agriculture, waste, and technology. It partners with a wide variety of actors to make change, including non-profits, foundations, philanthropists, companies, universities and government.
  • Sequoia Climate Foundation: Sequoia Climate Foundation is a private foundation striving to prevent the worst impacts of climate change. Its investments and grant making leverages climate science to decarbonize the global economy and accelerate the energy transition across geographies and sectors, focusing on the strategies and geographies where philanthropy can have the highest impact.
  • Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment: The Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment was established in 1997 to protect and conserve the natural environment. It makes grants to journalists, NGOs, and scientists to drive environmental and climate advocacy and research. Alongside environmental philanthropy, it also makes investments in entrepreneurs and firms building green industries and systems.
