Biography

Rupert has a background in the petrochemical, public service, human rights and conservation sectors.

He has worked for Nobel Peace Prize nominated human rights group Global Witness in two spells, finally as Campaign Director for forests, land rights and climate campaigns.

Rupert worked as Outreach Director for the award winning social enterprise Blue Ventures, supporting coastal communities in Africa and Asia in managing their fisheries in a way that sustains livelihoods and enhances their rights. More recently, Rupert worked for the Australian Climate and Biodiversity Foundation working with federal and state governments, conservation and First Nation organizations to develop high integrity carbon and biodiversity markets in Australia.

Rupert has an MSc in Environmental Studies from Southampton University with a focus on freshwater fisheries.
