Biography

Daniel is the Director of BIOCARBON. He currently serves as Advisory Committee Member at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture’s Program on Climate Change and Natural Resources. He has over 15 years of experience in climate change diplomacy, including driving multilateral environmental agreements and carbon markets regulation.

During COP21 in Paris, he served as Minister of the Environment of Ecuador and was entrusted with the role of Co-Chair of the REDD+ Ministerial negotiations by the French Presidency. He has an MSc in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and holds a PhD in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University.
