Biography

Richard is Technical Assurance Lead at ICVCM.  He started his career as a project and programme manager for high impact carbon offset projects under Verra, Gold Standard and the Clean Development Mechanism in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2016, he moved into Standards Setting and Assurance with the Gold Standard Foundation and sustainCERT, where he occupied various roles from Standards Manager through to Compliance Director.

During his career, he has helped shape various novel sustainability standards and systems, including the Scope 3 focussed Value Change Initiative and an impact Fund Manager process and performance certification standard. He has worked closely with Technical Governance, users and auditors to ensure the standards and systems being developed were fit for purpose.

 

He holds a BSc. in Zoology and an MSc. in Environmental Architecture and enjoys walking, cycling, travelling and playing guitar.
