Biography

Nate’s experience in carbon markets spans both the private and public sector. He helped develop the foundation and strategy for an investment fund focused on financing offset projects within North America. Nate then became a team policy lead at the Carbon Markets Bureau in Environment and Climate Change Canada. He led the development of the Canadian Greenhouse Gas Offset Credit System Regulations and led the analysis of different offset project options to inform and prioritize protocol/methodology development. Now at ClearBlue Markets as Director, Offset Strategy, Nate applies his skills and background to lead on strategy, evaluation, due diligence, and structuring for investment opportunities in the carbon offsets space. Nate applies his unique background in carbon offsets, regulatory development, and alternative investments as a subject matter expert in the ICVCM with the aim to establish integrity of offset credits as a foundation for scaling global institutional capital investment in the voluntary carbon market.
