Daniel Ortega-Pacheco

Biography

Daniel is the Director of the Center For Public Policy Development at the Espol Polytechnic University. He has over 15 years of experience in climate change diplomacy, including driving multilateral environmental agreements and carbon markets regulation. During COP21 in Paris, he served as Minister of the Environment of Ecuador and was entrusted with the role of Co-Chair of the REDD+ Ministerial negotiations by the French Presidency. He has an MSc in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University.
